Why Join Us?
At our firm, we believe in fostering talent and providing opportunities for growth. You'll be working with a successful and rapidly growing company, led by solicitor-owner managers, who are dedicated to making a difference. As the third in-house barrister, you’ll have a key role in shaping the future of our advocacy department, alongside our Head of Advocacy.
The Role: In this exciting position, you’ll represent claimants in trials across England and Wales, handling a variety of fast-track cases with opportunities to get involved in multi-track litigation. You’ll also:
- Represent clients at CMCs, CCMCs, Interim Hearings, Stage 3 Hearings, and other advocacy matters in personal injury litigation.
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, skeleton arguments, and formal advice.
- Stay up-to-date with procedural changes, case law, and legislative developments.
- Offer guidance to junior advocates and contribute to the team’s high standards of service.
Who We’re Looking For:
- A motivated, independent barrister with a passion for advocacy.
- Someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who thrives under pressure and has meticulous attention to detail.
- You should be knowledgeable in Civil Procedure Rules and have demonstrable advocacy experience.
- Personal injury experience is a bonus, but we are open to speaking with candidates from wider litigation backgrounds.
Location: Ideally, you’ll be based in the North West or within a commutable distance to the South of England. This role involves extensive travel across England and Wales, so flexibility and a willingness to stay overnight when needed are essential.
Whats on Offer:
- Competitive Salary: Based on experience.
- Flexible Working: 3/2 hybrid working pattern after probation.
- Generous Holidays: 28 days holiday, with the option to buy up to 3 additional days per year, and an extra day off for your birthday after 2 years of service!
- Health & Wellness: Private medical insurance after 2 years, annual flu jab, free fruit, and more!
- Employee Perks: Death in service (2x salary), active social committee, netball/football teams, firm-wide events, and enhanced maternity leave after 1 year.
- Professional Development: We are committed to ongoing training and development, with a strong emphasis on diversity and inclusion.
