Childcare Solicitor (2+ PQE)North West / HybridSalary: Competitive, based on experienceA respected and expanding law firm is seeking an experienced Childcare Solicitor (2+ PQE) to join its team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex and sensitive childcare matters, representing parents, guardians, and children in public law proceedings.The Role:
  • Managing a caseload of public law childcare matters, including care proceedings, child protection issues, emergency protection orders, and special guardianship applications.
  • Representing clients in court, conducting advocacy where appropriate.
  • Advising clients with empathy and professionalism, ensuring their best interests are met.
  • Liaising with local authorities, guardians, expert witnesses, and barristers.
  • Supporting junior team members, including trainees and paralegals.
  • Assisting with business development and helping to grow the firm’s childcare law offering.
What We’re Looking For:
  • 2+ years’ PQE with experience in public childcare law.
  • A strong understanding of public law proceedings, including care and supervision orders, adoption, and emergency protection orders.
  • Advocacy experience is desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to client care, with the ability to handle sensitive and complex cases.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to work towards Children Panel Accreditation
