A highly regarded international law firm is looking to appoint an Intellectual Property Legal Director to lead and develop its growing IP practice.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced IP lawyer to take on a leadership role within a commercial team, driving strategic growth while advising a diverse client base on both contentious and non-contentious IP matters.
The Role:
You will be responsible for overseeing the non-contentious side of the IP practice, ensuring high-quality legal service delivery and helping to shape the team’s long-term development. This position requires a strong commercial mindset, as well as deep technical expertise across IP law, including trade marks, copyright, design rights, brand protection and trade secrets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing the non-contentious IP practice, supporting clients in protecting and commercialising their intellectual property
- Advising on a range of IP matters, including registration, licensing and brand protection
- Providing support on corporate transactions involving IP assets
- Monitoring and advising on developments in IP law and market trends
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business to integrate IP advice into broader commercial strategies
- Playing a key role in the growth and development of the IP team
About you:
The firm is seeking a collaborative and proactive individual with a track record of advising clients on IP law and commercial IP strategy. You will have:
- Extensive experience advising on trademarks, copyright, design rights and brand protection (some knowledge of patents would be beneficial)
- Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking skills
- Proven ability to build and develop client relationships
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Previous experience in growing and developing an IP team (desirable)
