Real Estate Finance Solicitor – Manchester
An established Legal500 and UKTOP200 highly regarded law firm is seeking a Real Estate Finance Solicitor or Fee Earner to join its growing team in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a dynamic and forward-thinking firm with a strong reputation in property finance. You will be between 1-3 years PQE but do get in touch if you fall outside of this.Â
The Role:
You will play a key role in advising a diverse client base, including banks, specialist lenders, institutional investors and fintech companies. You will handle a range of real estate finance transactions, working on both regulated and unregulated lending matters, including short-term bridging finance and long-term secured lending.
You will be responsible for managing your own caseload with minimal supervision, carrying out due diligence, reviewing & drafting security documents and liaising with clients, brokers & other stakeholders to ensure transactions progress efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising on both joint and separate representation matters, ensuring compliance with lender requirements
- Conducting due diligence, including title investigations, reviewing valuation reports and raising appropriate enquiries
- Drafting and reviewing key security documents such as Legal Charges, Debentures and Board Resolutions
- Interpreting and advising on facility letters and finance offers, ensuring conditions precedent are met
- Handling security registrations at Companies House and the Land Registry for various borrower structures, including limited companies and LLPs
- Preparing mortgage reports, search reports and title reports for clients
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients and intermediaries through proactive communication and updates
Requirements:
- A background in real estate finance is preferable but not essential and/or commercial property, or residential property law
- Experience handling a caseload of real estate finance transactions with minimal supervision (preferable)
- A thorough understanding of different types of security, including freehold, leasehold, HMO, MUFB and Buy-to-Let (preferable)Â
- Excellent technical knowledge of lender and borrower structures and security requirements
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously
- Familiarity with electronic signing platforms (such as DocuSign) is an advantage (preferable)
- 1-3 years PQE
