Exciting Opportunity for Paralegals in Catastrophic Injury Law – ManchesterMy client is seeking a talented and motivated Paralegal to join their expanding Catastrophic Injury team in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about personal injury law and eager to work alongside experts in the field.About the Department:This renowned Personal Injury department is dedicated to securing millions of pounds in compensation for clients across the UK each year. Specialising in catastrophic injury cases, the team is highly respected for its exceptional results and outstanding client service. The department has achieved recognition from prestigious legal institutions, including top-tier rankings in Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners, alongside numerous awards, such as the Corporate Supporter Award at the inaugural Child Brain Injury Trust Diamond Awards.The Roles:As a Paralegal, you will work closely with senior team members, gaining valuable experience and developing your expertise in catastrophic injury litigation. The role offers a varied caseload, focusing on brain, spinal cord, and amputation claims, and offers excellent opportunities to grow your legal knowledge. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Drafting witness statements
  • Attending conferences with counsel and experts, taking detailed notes
  • Preparing court documents and bundles
  • Reviewing and collating records, medical reports, and case law
  • Researching liability and quantum
  • Liaising with clients and updating them on case progress
  • Preparing instructions for medical experts and counsel
  • Handling billing and disbursement payments
Initially, the role will be fully office-based to ensure proper training and integration. After the settling-in period, you will have the option to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.Candidate Requirements:To be considered for this role, you must have:
  • Previous experience in Personal Injury law, particularly catastrophic injury claims
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, with an empathetic approach to client care
  • A strong academic background
  • Experience with Proclaim Case Management System (preferred, but not essential)
