Our client, a leading specialist Court of Protection and Private Client law firm, is seeking a Court of Protection Case Worker to join its growing team. As an award-winning boutique firm, 95% of its work is dedicated to supporting vulnerable clients and their families. With a team of over 50 employees, the firm operates both remotely and from its Manchester office, and alongside excellent benefits they promote progression for those that want it.The Case Worker will work closely with the firm's team of lawyers to support clients under the Court of Protection, many of whom have suffered brain injuries or lost capacity due to conditions such as dementia.Responsibilities will include:
  • Managing clients’ property and financial affairs, ensuring their needs are met
  • Maintaining regular contact with clients, their families, and carers via phone and annual home visits
  • Assisting with practical and financial arrangements, such as paying bills, purchasing vehicles, and helping clients manage budgets
  • Acting as a first point of contact for clients and their families
  • Ensuring financial transactions, invoicing, and budgeting are managed efficiently
The ideal candidate will either have previous experience in a similar role within a law firm or possess professional financial management experience in a fast-paced environment. The role requires:
  • Experience in financial management, including budgeting and invoice processing
  • Strong negotiation skills and a professional telephone manner
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in IT and case management systems
  • Life experience of managing a home and budget, providing insight into client requirements
