Our team is composed of skilled professionals dedicated to advocating for both employees and employers in a wide range of legal matters. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Employment Paralegal to join our growing team.
Position Overview:As an Employment Paralegal, you will work closely with our employment law attorneys to provide support in handling a variety of employment-related legal matters. You will be responsible for conducting legal research, preparing documentation, and assisting with case management, all while ensuring adherence to legal procedures and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements
- Conduct legal research on employment laws, regulations, and case precedents
- Prepare and organise case files and evidence for hearings, depositions, and trials
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather information and provide case updates
- File court documents and manage electronic filing systems
- Review and summarise employment-related contracts, policies, and employee handbooks
- Assist in preparing employment law training materials for clients
- Manage deadlines and ensure compliance with legal procedures
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive matters
Ideal Candidate
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in employment law
- A degree or certification in Paralegal Studies, or relevant experience in the legal field
- Strong understanding of employment law, including wage and hour issues, discrimination, and wrongful termination
- Proficient in legal research tools, Microsoft Office, and case management software
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritise tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- High level of professionalism and discretion
