Legal Assistant (Personal Injury) - Manchester - £27k - £30k + excellent benefits

The Legal Assistant will provide day to day secretarial and legal support to include the production of correspondence and documentation, dealing with assigned tasks on the case management system, paper and digital file management. The Legal Assistant will also provide support and assistance to other Legal Assistants and support Office Assistants with their duties as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the Incoming Documentation for the fee earning teams, re-naming, categorising and distributing documents
  • Downloading, bundling and pagination of medical records and other documentation
  • To action and progress assigned tasks on the case management system
  • Proactively address tasks on the case management system that may not already be allocated to a Legal Assistant
  • Production of correspondence and documentation, via case management system to include PDF Bundling and document sharing
  • Supporting other team members with their workload as required
  • Assisting with Liberate Development by undertaking testing and working with the Development Team
  • Attending & liaising with clients, providing support and assistance in a professional and friendly manner
  • Opening and allocating New Client case quotes on a case management system
  • Preparing settled cases for billing by creating digital bundles of the file, producing ledgers and reports
  • Collating invoices, logging for due dates, arranging payment and maintaining a detailed tracker

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word (advanced), Outlook & Excel (basic)
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Experience in Personal Injury Law, preferably catastrophic injury work
  • Experience of using a case management system
