Join our dynamic team in Greater Manchester as a Work and Health Coach. This role involves supporting participants to retain employment, return to work after sickness, or find new employment opportunities.
Day-to-day of the role:- Manage a caseload of participants, supporting them towards achieving their employment goals.
- Conduct Work and Health Assessment meetings both face-to-face and online via Microsoft Teams.
- Assess client support needs related to work, including benefits/welfare advice and mental health symptom disclosure, providing necessary support and guidance.
- Help clients identify their key skills, aspirations, and goals through the completion of an Action Plan.
- Source job opportunities through tailored job searches and regular contact with local employers.
- Liaise with local partners and clinical teams from various services such as GP Practices, MSK services, and social prescribing hubs.
- Deliver a triage function and ensure referrals are made to external provisions as necessary.
- Provide education and support to employers, including negotiating adjustments and return-to-work strategies.
- Maintain effective monitoring and evaluation systems and stay updated with changing practices within vocational rehabilitation.
- Warm, approachable, and empathetic style with the ability to build relationships that support client progression.
- Awareness of health and mental health conditions and their impact on employment.
- Experience addressing issues affecting individuals with multiple barriers to employment.
- Knowledge of support agencies for individuals with complex needs (e.g., debt, substance misuse, housing).
- Understanding of a broad range of occupations and jobs in the local labour market.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a target-driven environment focused on customer engagement, satisfaction, and job outcomes.
- Experience working with people with multiple and complex needs, including health conditions and disabilities.
- Experience in guidance, advice, or counselling environments.
