Our client is a well-established and major constructor of high-quality LCV and HGV vehicles, seeking Skilled and Semi-Skilled Tail Lift Fitters to join their growing team. Due to increased demand, they are offering an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals to contribute to their success.
About the Role
As a Tail Lift Fitter, you will play a vital role in the installation and fitting of tail lifts to vehicles, ensuring a high standard of workmanship.
Skilled and Semi-Skilled Tail Lift Fitters Key Responsibilities:

• Installation and fitting of various tail lift systems, including DEL, D'Hollandia, and Palfinger.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings.
• Accurate fitting processes, including cut-outs and mounting ancillary parts.
• Electrical wiring installation and hydraulic connections.
• Testing tail lifts and documenting test results for certification.
• Problem-solving, fault finding, and making necessary adjustments.
• Mounting and connecting auxiliary lights.
• Maintaining high safety standards and excellent housekeeping.

Experience Required:

• Proven mechanical fitting experience in an engineering or commercial vehicle environment.
• Tail lift fitting experience, including column, cantilever, and tuckaway systems.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Competence in safe and efficient tool handling.
• Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
