Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Workshop Tail Lift Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, maintenance, and inspection of tail lifts and vehicle-mounted lifting equipment. Working in a fast-paced workshop environment, the fitter will ensure that all tasks meet safety and quality standards while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and Fitting:
- Install new tail lifts, hydraulic platforms, and other lifting equipment on commercial vehicles.
- Repairs and Maintenance:
- Diagnose and repair faults on tail lifts, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment functions safely and efficiently.
- Testing and Compliance:
- Perform regular load testing and safety checks in line with LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) and PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations).
- Ensure all repairs and installations meet industry standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Documentation:
- Complete and maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and job sheets.
- Update databases or systems with completed work details.
- Workshop Safety and Cleanliness:
- Adhere to all health and safety policies within the workshop.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Essential:
- Proven experience in fitting and maintaining tail lifts or similar equipment.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with LOLER and PUWER regulations.
- Desirable:
- Recognized qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- LOLER certification or experience working with lifting equipment.
