My clients a well-established, growing transport company are seeking an experienced Operations manager to join their busy team.

Duties would include:

  • To oversee the day to day smooth running of the operation
  • Responsible for ensuring that effective methods are put into place so that the company runs to its maximum productivity.
  • Conduct monthly reviews/ presentations with the customers or as and when required.
  • Ensure budgets are properly controlled and managed, to achieve best profitability for the company but not at the expense of the customer.
  • Oversee the customer service delivered by the team and assess that they are meeting customer satisfaction goals. Ensure this is by reviewing customer reviews and customer related statistics
  • Prepare, revise and submit reports, budgets and other documentation as and when requested
  • Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
  • Services while staying within budgetary limits.
  • Implement health and safety procedures
  • Manage and Implement new business from Sales to Operations.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Depot delivers its agreed targets in all key performance areas, particularly those that can be influenced by the staff group you directly manage.

Skills required:

  • Previous transport ops management experience
  • 5 year checkable history
  • Experience within a supervisory / management role
  • Good understanding of current transportation and H&S regulations
  • Planning and project management experience
  • Have excellent customer service experience
  • Route planning experience
  • PC literate

Working hours:

  • Monday- Friday days (Flexibility needed)
