Warehouse Supervisor

Site Based – North Manchester

Salary - £26k to £30k per annum DOE

We are currently recruiting a Warehouse Supervisor to join us on a permanent basis within a small but busy warehouse team.

The ideal candidate will have previous supervisory experience in a warehouse environment, be hands-on, enthusiastic, computer literate and display a willingness to learn & develop their skills within the business.

We are looking for somebody with a can-do attitude who can maintain their performance level, manage their time and prioritise their workload in a busy and challenging environment.

The ideal candidate will ensure that the warehouse runs smoothly with all tasks completed in an accurate and timely manner.

Counterbalance FLT & VNA Licences are required and must be shown prior to employment commencing.

Role Responsibilities

  • Ensure the smooth and efficient running of all warehouse operations.
  • Assign daily tasks/jobs to the warehouse operatives.
  • Oversee picking, unpacking and packing.
  • Oversee creation/administration of barcodes, end carton labels, packing lists etc. to meet customer requirements.
  • Monitor jobs in production to make sure due dates are on track
  • Liaise with other departments regarding operational issues.
  • Oversee daily dispatch of jobs and deal with any issues that occur.
  • Loading / unloading boxes & pallets at goods in-goods out.
  • Oversee goods in operation – daily receipt of goods as well as container deliveries.
  • Procure consumables (packaging, toilet roll, break room supplies etc.)
  • Oversee stock control/QC/counts.
  • Handling returns to stock – creating returns labels, goods return etc.
  • Review and improve systems/processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintain Health & Safety within the warehouse

Skills Required

  • Previous experience of supervisory work in a warehouse environment is essential
  • Counterbalance FLT & VNA licence are a MUST
  • Proficient in warehouse policies and procedures
  • Computer literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office & Outlook
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Organised & capable of managing time & prioritising workload
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good work ethic
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Confidence to use initiative
  • Ability to handle pressurised situations / tight deadlines
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and improve
