Motor Claims Handler

8:30am - 17:00pm Monday to Friday (office based)

25 Days Holiday + bank holidays

Salary £26,000-£30,000 dependant on experience

MPJ Recruitment are currently representing a specialist insurance and underwriting company in the motor insurance industry. Our client act within the General Insurance & Broking sectors of the insurance claims process and their management boast over 50 years experience in the industry.

Motor Claims Handler Duties:

  • Receive and assess claims information from policyholders, clients, and third parties.
  • Investigate and verify the validity of claims through documentation, interviews, and inspections.
  • Process claims in a timely manner in accordance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate the policy terms and conditions to determine indemnity.
  • Assess damage or loss and determine the appropriate compensation or settlement amount.
  • Liaise with adjusters, investigators, and legal teams to gather necessary information and documentation.
  • Communicate with Brokers, policyholders and claimants, providing updates on the status of their claims.
  • Address inquiries, explain claim processes, and resolve any disputes or complaints.
  • Ensure a positive and supportive experience for clients throughout the claims process.
  • Negotiate settlements with claimants, third parties, or their representatives.
  • Ensure that claims settlements are in line with company policy, industry standards, and legal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all claim’s activities, including phone calls, emails, and correspondence.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for internal teams, management, or regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection laws and maintain confidentiality.
  • Identify potential fraud or claims irregularities and escalate to the appropriate teams for further investigation.
  • Review and analyse claim trends to support the improvement of claims processes.
  • Work closely with underwriters, legal advisors, and other departments to facilitate the claims process.
