Proactive Personnel are currently searching for a Production Planning Assistant an international manufacturing company working in the food and beverage industry. This is a permanent full time position, our client is one of the largest manufacturers of fragrances, food colouring and flavourings working with some of the world’s biggest brands.
Main Purpose of the Production Planning Assistant role:
Support in the coordination of the Production Schedule across Manufacturing Plants in Europe to meet Business and Customer needs for product availability, inventory levels and costs.
Main responsibilities:
- 100% Participation to Plant Safety initiatives and campaigns. Ensures all operations are conducted safely and meet with all the current company standards.
- Works with Production and CS Teams to schedule production according to business and customer needs.
- Proactively involved in Continuous Improvement activities within own area of expertise.
- Generation of production plans for each site (Cork site: four week view, daily liquid plan, weekly liquid plan, Manchester: Weekly Plan, Drumming Plan and Powder Drying Plan)
- Plans bulk transportation schedule (Cork & Manchester) including raw materials, packaging, finished product etc.
- Coordinates bulk freight movements, inbound and outbound, approve and code carrier invoices, track tanker fleet status, plan future positioning, fleet management (repairs, tests etc.)
- Works with Plant associates in all areas of the Plant including intake, production, labs and dispatch to ensure adherence to the production schedule.
- Liaises with material suppliers, issuing Purchase Orders in line with raw material requirements and ensuring timely delivery of raw materials. Ensures that receipts are completed and matched to orders in a timely manner and any differences investigated and resolved.
- Creates powder work orders and works with Superior Powders to manage and maintain inventory at the production point, ensuring "live" JDE data with daily maintenance of orders in the system.
- Monitors packaging work orders / finished goods inventory to meet business targets on DIO.
- Monitors stock status and levels and provides regular analysis and actions plans on significant inventory issues including held and rework stock.
- Monitors stock counts of materials at key points in the year and maintains regular cycle counts during the remainder of the year for all inventories under company control.
- Coordinates with European Customer Support Manager and associates to service all customers including involvement as required in Sales & Operations Planning processes.
