JP Recruitment are hiring! Based at our client's site in Trafford Park, predominantly you will be carrying out maintenance on the machinery around the plant, carrying out general handyman tasks when required and liaising with contractors and other 3rd parties where needed.

We are looking for a mechanically minded person who fault finds and attempts to diagnose and fix prior to arranging 3rd party contractors on site.

This is a permanent position for a well-established manufacturing firm that can offer great benefits and longevity within your career.

Duties include:

  • Support the Engineering Manager and ensuring Health and Safety requirements are always met.
  • Responsible for all maintenance and ensuring all site repairs are conducted correctly.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors.
  • Contractor management through permit to work process.
  • Develop strong working relationships and communication with other departments.
  • Look for and implement process improvements to continuously improve performance.
  • The ability to solve problems and use initiative.
  • Ensuring that all maintenance, calibration and repairs are conducted correctly and on time by contractors.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all external contractors working on site are advised of our safety requirements, that their representative understands and completes the appropriate permit to work, and that they then perform all duties in a safe manner in line with company processes. Responsibility for stopping all unsafe contractor practices.
  • Supervision of high-risk tasks such as working at height, confined space and live electrics – both in house and contractor work.
  • Responsibility for ensuring that all machinery/plant and calibration database records are always maintained and kept up to date, including all maintenance files (containing all manual records/files) to enable others to access any data required.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all part numbers/supplier details are recorded - to enable prompt ordering of spares.
  • Implement and following service schedules.
  • Managing emergencies, diagnosing problems and carrying out repairs whilst prioritising workload.
  • Identifying efficiency solutions and provide recommendations.
  • Respond quickly and safely to breakdowns to ensure maximum safety for users. This will include working at height and confined spaces.
  • Create and implement maintenance SOPs where required.
  • General building / site maintenance + housekeeping.
  • The ability to solve problems and use initiative.

Working Hours:

  • Day shift only
  • 8am – 4pm – Monday to Friday

Salary:

  • 30k – Negotiable / Will pay higher for the right candidate
