We are seeking skilled Maintenance Engineers to join our dynamic team on a contract basis. This is a great opportunity to work with advanced equipment and contribute to a thriving production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on production machinery and equipment in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults on production lines.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure machinery is operating efficiently and safely.
  • Ensure adherence to food hygiene and safety standards at all times.
  • Work closely with the production team to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance work and any repairs.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and help implement lean manufacturing practices.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer, ideally in the food or beverage industry.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical engineering skills.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems and fault-finding.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and hygiene standards (HACCP).
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively in a high-demand production setting.
  • Flexible approach to shift work, including weekends and nights when necessary.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant engineering qualification (NVQ, HNC, or equivalent) in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification (desirable).
  • Experience in CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) is an advantage.
