We are working with a long-standing client of ours based in Wythenshawe who are experts in the aviation industry who are looking for a Production Engineer / Planner.

The Role

  • Provide engineering support for the manufacturing facility
  • Read, understand engineering drawings with a keen eye for detail and understanding of how to transfer the data on drawings into BOMs on the ERP system (Syteline / SAP).
  • Overall responsibility for the analysis, planning and management of all Manufacturing orders, workloads, Bill of Materials, and related documentation/databases.
  • Preparation/updating of new/existing manufacturing process documentation (SOP’s) and associated tooling required for product manufacture 
  • Deliver appropriate training to colleagues in Manufacturing Planning procedures/Syteline system.
  • Co-ordinate planning, material, and system updates/changes in result of design changes/modifications/deviations etc; and ensure adherence to GQCP and other system/process control procedures.
  • Oversee procedures and conformance by Production staff in job time/progress booking: and adherence to job-track/ERP processes.
  • Ensure production schedules are assessed in advance and all materials requirements are created/actioned to fulfil in-house Manufacturing, Outsource, free-issue and subcontract demands.

About you

  • Proven skills, knowledge and experience in understanding engineering drawings
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following areas. Vac form, machine shop, injection moulding or final assembly.
  • To have good organisational skills
  • To have good IT skills
