Production engineer

Job: Production Operative
Location: Middleton
Pay Rate: £12 per hour

Role Overview:

This semi-skilled position involves the manufacturing of components for modular office structures. The jobholder will be responsible for adhering to specifications and ensuring all work is completed to a high standard. Duties include safe material handling, operating machinery, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience working with wood/MDF, ideally in joinery, shopfitting, or cabinet/kitchen manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret basic production drawings.
• Attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality results.
• Willingness to learn new practical skills.
• Physical fitness to manage the role's demands.
• Flexibility to work overtime when needed.
• A forklift licence (preferred but not essential).
• Experience with fabric upholstery (advantageous but not required).

Responsibilities:

• Assembly of modular acoustic wall panels (MDF frames, fabric upholstered).
• Construction of acoustic ceiling tiles (MDF frames, fabric upholstered).
• Production of decorative wall panels made from wood, cork, or laminated MDF.
• Adherence to Health and Safety procedures and completion of relevant documentation.
• Maintenance of personal equipment, including tools and safety gear.
• Participation in production trials and feedback sharing to improve processes.
• Maintenance of a clean and safe working environment and stock areas.
• Safe handling and operation of machinery and tools.
