Our client is a leading independent distribution company based in Manchester.

They are currently looking for a Marketing Executive to join their team, usually based at their Manchester head office but occasionally visiting other sites around the UK and Ireland. You will report directly to the Managing Director, additionally assisting with projects and administrative matters when required. You will be professional in your outlook, with a helpful and productive attitude.

This is an on site role 5 days a week, 9am-5pm.

The role involves all aspects of marketing and communication, externally and internally, engaging closely with the Board and management team to understand and promote our business. The role is rich in variety and scope, with the opportunity for the right candidate to grow and learn about business and the chemical industry. Some of the responsibilities include;

  • Digital marketing; managing website content, social media & presentations
  • Branding; ensuring consistency in message, theme & appearance
  • Literature; liaising with suppliers to design and produce printed literature in support of the commercial team
  • Planning and delivery of trade shows, corporate events and company socials
  • Scheduling and attending management meetings, taking notes and preparing minutes
  • Report writing and analysis
  • Project management (varies)
  • Making travel and hotel arrangements
  • Preparing expenses and maintaining a filing system

Ideal Candidate

  • Degree at university level (Marketing) or relevant marketing experience
  • Previous similar experience (but not necessary)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A good communicator with the ability to work as part of a team
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing your time effectively
  • The ability to prioritise and multitask efficiently
  • Discretion, tact and diplomacy
  • IT literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
  • Experience in web content editing using DotNetNuke (DNN) an advantage
