Manufacturing Engineering Manager FMCG

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering operations, working proactively to enhance machine efficiency and availability.
- Implement and monitor a robust maintenance schedule, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and manufacturer guidelines.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Act as the primary engineering contact, delivering innovative solutions across all business areas.
- Collaborate with production teams to drive machine reliability and optimise output.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure optimal service and reduce dependency.
- Manage the maintenance budget effectively, employing root-cause analysis to reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with internal KPIs and play a key role in achieving operational targets.
What Were Looking For:
- IOSH certification or equivalent.
- Strong electrical and mechanical engineering background, ideally with formal qualifications (degree preferred but not essential).
- Experience in a similar role, particularly in a fast-paced, made-to-order environment.
- Expertise in lean manufacturing techniques and their practical application.
- Demonstrable experience in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) within a manufacturing setting.
- Proven track record of delivering cost savings through efficiency improvements.
- Hands-on approach with a strong commitment to maintaining a clean and structured workspace (5S methodology).
- Solid understanding of technology and engineering software.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management abilities, both internally and externally.
- A team player who adapts to challenges and leads by example.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and process mapping tools.
