About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Development Manager to oversee the full management of a designated building. This role involves direct engagement with clients and tenants while ensuring service excellence, compliance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a motivated leader with a strong background in property management, compliance, and tenant relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building Compliance & Maintenance: Conduct inspections, ensure health & safety compliance, oversee maintenance, and manage external contractors.
  • Financial Oversight: Prepare budgets, service charge accounts, and liaise with finance teams to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Insurance & Risk Management: Ensure the building is fully insured, handle claims, and oversee periodic inspections.
  • Tenant & Client Relations: Act as the primary contact, handle correspondence, meetings, and complaints professionally.
  • Contractor & Vendor Management: Oversee procurement, performance reviews, and ensure compliance with service agreements.
  • Lease Compliance & Legal Matters: Monitor lease breaches, coordinate legal actions, and support clients with property-related regulations.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in property management with a strong understanding of health & safety, lease agreements, and compliance.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, service charge management, and cost control.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to liaise effectively with clients, tenants, and contractors.
  • Experience in building maintenance and risk management.
  • Ability to work independently while leading and mentoring junior staff.
  • ARMA and RICS code of practice knowledge is advantageous.
