Blueprint Recruitment are seeking a Data Centre Discipline Lead to spearhead the mechanical design and project delivery of a variety of mission critical projects. This is a Lead role requiring a highly skilled engineer with a proven track record of leading teams and delivering complex projects. The successful candidate will balance leadership with hands-on design responsibilities to ensure exceptional project outcomes. This is a hybrid opportunity, with a preference for candidates to operate flexibly from the Manchester or Birmingham offices, though remote working may be considered for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage mechanical design for data centre projects from concept to completion.
- Oversee and drive project teams to deliver on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Carry out hands-on design work, including detailed calculations, layouts, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Contribute to the development of innovative solutions and sustainable design practices.
- Support business development activities and project proposals as required.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in mechanical design for data centre projects.
- Proven leadership in managing teams and delivering large-scale projects.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Membership in a professional body such as CIBSE or IMechE is desirable.
- Strong technical expertise in mechanical systems for mission-critical facilities.
- Proficient in design tools and software relevant to the mechanical building services discipline.
- Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to lead teams and engage with clients.
- Proactive and driven, with a focus on achieving project success.
