Lead Mechanical Process Engineer - Manchester
Contract - 6 months (potential to extend to much longer for the right person)
Up to £70 per hour (Inside IR35)
Hybrid (one day per week in the office)

Due to growth and some exciting project wins, Carrington West's client have opportunities for Lead Mechanical Engineers to become members of their friendly, and supportive engineering team across our various offices.
 
Working on cutting edge Uranium conversion projects, the Lead mechanical Process engineer will manage the workload of a small team of engineers and ensure designs are compatible and compliant for the project at hand
 
Responsibilities
 
·Participate in safety reviews and risk assessments
·Develop mechanical design deliverables (calculations, datasheets, specifications, schedules)
·Verify mechanical deliverables for quality, compliance, project brief, and customer requirements
·Review vendor quotations and coordinate with equipment and package vendors
·Specify, design, and evaluate utility systems
·Verify piping design documents, including isometrics and layout drawings
·Support plant layout development
·Collaborate with the design team to deliver safe, efficient, and buildable solution
 
Requirements
·Degree in Mechanical Engineering
·Significant experience in the nuclear sector
·Have experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams
·Experience working ina  Nuclear fuel environment (desirable)
