Due to continued success across the business a market leading manufacturer is seeking to enhance its team on site with the appointment of mechanical fitters within their department.

Role Description

  • Read and analyse assembly drawings, bills of material and specification, to plan machine build operations
  • Fit and assemble components according to specifications. Using correct tools and recognised engineering methods, while verifying conformance of parts
  • Communicate any build and documentation issues to Operational Leadership and/or Engineering
  • Mark all fasteners and sign worksheet, to confirm torque and quality checks have been completed
  • Support internal and customer pre-delivery inspections.
  • Debug assemblies and machines by identifying and correcting problems affecting proper operation.
  • Dismantle equipment and assist with packing and loading if required
  • Ensure that time is booked to the relevant manufacturing order.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Qualified preferably to ONC/HNC in a mechanical engineering subject.
  • 3 years minimum experience in machine building and set up in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience preferably in the machine building industry
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and build specifications.
  • Able to operate machine tools
