Join our dedicated team in the Neighbourhoods Directorate at Manchester City Council, where we are committed to delivering high-quality housing services. We are seeking a Mechanical Compliance and Repair Surveyor with a strong background in Gas Engineering or Heat Pumps installation/repair. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and compliance of mechanical systems within council homes.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide technical regulatory knowledge and enforce relevant legislation to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of residents.
  • Develop and administer investigative procedures and regulatory protocols.
  • Offer advice and guidance on enforcing standards and regulating community activity.
  • Lead on the delivery of statutory enforcement obligations and liaise with other departments or relevant bodies as necessary.
  • Ensure all service requests are handled within designated timescales and uphold high standards of customer service.
  • Maintain and improve service delivery through continuous assessment and quality control.
  • Engage with residents on legionella & mechanical safety, enhancing their understanding and empowerment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Background in Gas Engineering or experience with Heat Pumps installation/repair.
  • Knowledge of legionella/mechanical safety compliance and best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage complex information.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with various stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car (mileage allowance provided).
