Principal Mechanical Design Engineer Manchester -Hybrid 65,000 + package


Are you a passionate and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking to lead high-profile projects in data centres, cleanrooms, and pharmaceutical environments? The Role:


As a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:
Lead and manage mechanical design across the full project lifecycle - from bid and concept to installation and commissioning.
Review and oversee designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Provide technical expertise to project teams, mitigating risks and delivering optimal solutions.
Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence.
Drive collaboration with clients, consultants, and contractors to achieve project success.
Ensure seamless integration of sustainability, compliance (BREEAM, Part L), and advanced modelling (CFD, FEA) into designs.



What We're Looking For:


Degree in Mechanical / Building Services Engineering (BEng/MEng preferred).
Proven track record in mechanical design for data centres and mission-critical projects or Critical Environments and large Commercial.
Expertise in design and build contracts (JCT, NEC, MF1) and compliance with RIBA Plan of Work, BSRIA BG6, and ISO 19650.
Ability to manage multiple projects, communicate priorities, and make decisive technical decisions.
Strong leadership skills with experience developing and mentoring engineering teams.
