Ready to Deliver Real Impact in a Fast-Moving Food Manufacturing Business?

We’re looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our Operations & Engineering Team within a dynamic and growing FMCG food manufacturing environment.

This is an exciting and hands-on role where you'll lead and support the delivery of site-based engineering and CAPEX projects — driving improvements across safety, quality, capacity, efficiency, and sustainability.

If you're a driven and highly organised engineering professional with a passion for projects and continuous improvement, we want to hear from you.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Site Project Manager, you'll take responsibility for managing a broad range of engineering projects from concept through to delivery — ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest standards.

You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, external contractors, and suppliers to support the growth and development of a busy manufacturing site.

This is a brilliant opportunity to bring your engineering expertise to life, working on projects that genuinely make a difference to operations.

Main Responsibilities:

Manage and deliver a variety of site-based CAPEX and engineering projects within a food manufacturing environment.

Scope and develop project briefs, ensuring alignment with site and business needs.

Support the development of robust financial controls, including CAPEX justification and spend forecasts.

Manage materials, labour, and contractors effectively to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.

Work closely with site teams to minimise disruption to production during project implementation.

Provide technical support, assurance, and best practice guidance to the wider project and engineering teams.

Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, and engineering standards throughout project lifecycle.

Lead or support post-project reviews to capture learnings and drive continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

Proven track record in managing and delivering engineering projects within FMCG, Food Manufacturing, or similar fast-paced industries.

Strong engineering background — ideally multi-skilled (Mechanical & Electrical).

Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills.

Confident in developing project financials and presenting business cases to senior stakeholders.

Ability to manage internal teams and external contractors effectively.

Strong IT skills – including MS Project, Excel, AutoCAD, SAP (desirable).

Knowledge of food safety requirements within an engineering environment.

Desirable:

Formal engineering qualification (HNC / Degree) or completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship.

Experience in delivering automation, packaging, or process improvement projects within a food or FMCG site.

IOSH or NEBOSH certification would be advantageous.

Do you want:

Work for a fast-growing and ambitious food manufacturing business.

Exciting variety of projects and real ownership from day one.

Development and training opportunities to enhance your skills and career.

A collaborative and supportive site team environment.

Competitive salary & benefits package.
