Job Title Technical Support Technician - North

Job Description

Objectives:

Provide on-site engineering support to engineers and contractors.

Promote our Client’s products and technical services offered within the construction industry, providing efficient technical support to distributors and our Client’s sales team.

Support project engineers with targeting product specifications.

Duties:

Provide on-site engineering support:

  • On site consultations on correct specification and use of our Client’s products
  • Site testing of various solutions
  • Installation training for site operatives
  • Produce site records and reports to required standard and in timely manner.
  • Promote our Client’s technical services:
  • Develop working relationships with site and office-based members of contractors and engineering practices.
  • Provide technical support to our Client’s distributors and sales teams.
  • Support passive fire protection, façade, and MEP support system technical teams.
  • Assist technical helpline as and when required.
  • Support Technical Manager with other duties which may arise.
  • Assist with developing and securing product specifications:
  • Working with project engineers to identify opportunities on site to target new clients for specification.
  • Promote CPD seminars relating to numerous topics regarding selection and design of our Client’s products.
  • Deliver CPD seminars on introductory topics regarding our Client’s products.
  • Pass on any project specification leads to relevant colleagues.

Personal Profile:

Education Requirements

  • Educated in a civil, structural or mechanical engineering related discipline, to at least HND level or new engineering graduate.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Self-motivated, reliable, persistent and thorough, well organised with an excellent customer focus.
  • Dynamic individual who can listen to clients and respond quickly to help them meet and exceed their expectations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Be able to relate successfully to member of client teams on all levels.
  • Good team player

Experience

  • Prior experience within construction industry would be an advantage, but training will be provided to the right candidate.

Product knowledge

  • Knowledge of Technical Construction Products would be helpful, but full training will be provided to a suitable candidate.
