Job Description
We have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join a prestigious manufacturing company based in Manchester!
Youll oversee a team of 6 engineers, ensuring that both planned and reactive maintenance tasks are carried out efficiently, reducing downtime and optimising production performance.
This position would ideally suit someone with a mechanical bias, although this is not essential. The successful candidate will report directly to the Engineering Manager, bringing strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving within the team.
This is a Full-Time, Permanent position!
What youll be doing
- Supervise and lead a team of 6 engineers, coordinating maintenance tasks and ensuring optimal team performance
- Oversee and conduct planned and reactive maintenance across a variety of machinery, including mixers, filling machines, gassing machines, PLCs, motors, bearings, gears, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Machinery installations, commissioning, and upgrades to support site enhancements
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions, manage repairs, and report findings to site management
- Drive initiatives to minimise production downtime while maximising equipment performance
- Collaborate on interesting and challenging project work
Hours
Week 1: Monday-Friday, 6am-2:15pm
Week 2: Monday-Thursday, 2pm-12:30am
Pay
£40,000 - £45,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Skills/Experience Required
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership role within maintenance or engineering
- Multi-Skilled (Mechanical Bias preferred, but Electrical Bias also considered
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3, or apprentice-trained or similar
- Proven experience in an Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, Industrial, Recycling, or similar environment
- A UK driving licence is essential
- Strong Health & Safety awareness, excellent communication and organisational skills
