Hayley Group Limited are looking for a Mechanical Technician to join our well-established and experienced team based at our Manchester branch in our Rail Division. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary.

About the role:

For our Mechanical Technician role, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual, ideally with a strong background in fasteners. The ideal candidate will have the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, ensuring precision and accuracy in all tasks. In this role, you will be able to build relationships and collaborate firsthand with key stakeholders within the MRO and rail industry, as well as working alongside your colleagues across the Hayley branch network. 

Working hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday

Key responsibilities as our Mechanical Technician will include:

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Recognising and recommending fasteners and components based on project requirements.
  • Conducting quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Collaborating with engineers and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
  • Maintaining accurate records of work performed and materials tested.

Skills & Attributes we're looking for in our Mechanical Technician:

  • Proven experience working with fasteners or in a mechanical environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Relevant certifications or technical training in fasteners would be advantageous.
  • Previous mechanical experience within automotive, rail, robotics or renewable energy would also be beneficial, especially if ‘metals’ and/or ‘quality’ related.
