As Technical Manager, you will work closely with the Technical Director, the Technical and Commercial teams, and the wider business to manage and coordinate all aspects of the Architectural, Engineering, and Design/Planning activities from initial land appraisal through to final adoption of developments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist in evaluating and appraising development opportunities and providing the information needed to purchase land.
  • Secure planning approvals, delivering as per policies to meet business objectives.
  • Manage external planning, architectural, and engineering consultants to ensure timely and budgeted delivery of design information.
  • Coordinate Pre-tender Health and Safety Information.
  • Facilitate communication with technical specialists and contractors, supporting procurement processes.
  • Provide operational and tactical planning reports, identifying risks and opportunities.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Relevant qualification and/or experience in Technical/Planning with an Engineering focus.
  • Strong knowledge of the full development process and commercial awareness.
  • Broad understanding of legal frameworks, planning management, and development procurement.
  • Experience in programme management, particularly Critical Path.
  • Previous experience in a project or discipline management role within a development organization.
  • Awareness of NHBC, LABC, and SBD approvals.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and technical skills (AutoCAD proficiency).
  • Awareness of Health and Safety/CDM regulations.
