SRG are working with a leading company that develop and manufacture specialist chemicals. They are currently looking to hire a temporary Laboratory Administrator to join their technical team based in Greater Manchester. This role will involve providing support to the wider technical team, ensuring the efficient operation of the laboratory. SAP experience is desirable, as well as experience of inventory and procurement systems, as well as gathering documentation.

Working hours: 8am - 4pm with flexibility, totalling 33.65 hours per week.

Role / Description

  • Dispatching samples to customers, partners and other business sites, as requested by the technical and commercial teams
  • Help manage the sample inventory, arranging for disposal of old samples, checking stocks of standard supplies and booking incoming samples into the inventory management system
  • Ordering of all chemicals and consumables for the technical team
  • Liaising with suppliers in order to source required raw materials
  • Managing the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) inventory
  • Help to manage safety documentation, including co-ordinating the reviewing of critical documents
  • Process transactions in SAP necessary to support the above duties
  • Assist in the lab as required, with specific emphasis on helping to prepare samples required for dispatch
  • Maintain good housekeeping and conform to all HSE&S procedures in own work area and shared areas of labs

Requirements

  • Immediate availability, or available at short notice
  • Proven experience of SAP and/or inventory and procurement systems is desirable
  • High attention to detail
