We are excited to be partnering with a leading Structural Engineering Consultancy based in Manchester City Centre who are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing team.


This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a forward-thinking, multi-office consultancy renowned for delivering innovative building appraisal and site investigation projects across a range of sectors. You'll be joining a highly skilled and collaborative team of around 20 engineers and technicians, contributing to projects that make a real impact on the built environment.



The Role


As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will take the lead on building appraisal and site investigation projects, providing expert technical insight and delivering high-quality solutions. This is a varied role that will see you working on a range of structures, from heritage buildings to contemporary commercial and residential developments.



Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and manage building appraisals, assessing structural integrity, identifying defects, and evaluating building performance.

  • Oversee and coordinate site investigations, including inspections, surveys, and testing.

  • Prepare and review technical reports with clear, actionable recommendations.

  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors, providing expert technical guidance.

  • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering professional development.

  • Ensure all work adheres to industry regulations, standards, and best practices.


What We're Looking For

  • Chartered or near-chartered status (CEng or MIStructE preferred).
  • Demonstrable experience in structural engineering, with a focus on building appraisals and site investigations.
  • Strong technical proficiency in structural assessment, design, and analysis.
  • Ability to interpret structural drawings, specifications, and survey data.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Strong project management abilities, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
