Test Engineer (API & Automation – MuleSoft Migration)

Duration: 6-Month Contract (Initial)

Location: Manchester (Hybrid, 2-3 days on-site)

Clearance Required: DBS, Referencing & Counter Terrorism Clearance

Project Overview
A major aviation group is undergoing a MuleSoft migration, transitioning from product technology. The Test Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of this migration, working within a technically skilled team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hands-on technical testing with a focus on API-level automation
  • Interface testing across integrations, including Kafka, Load & Performance
  • Assuring API quality and conducting database-level testing
  • Supporting the migration of technical platforms (Redshift to PostgreSQL)
  • Stakeholder management and documentation of test processes
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure testing best practices

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong API Testing & Automation experience (Postman, BDD, Chai)
  • Technical testing expertise (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS Lambda)
  • Database testing (PGSQL, Redshift, PostgreSQL)
  • Database skills (sequel)
  • Experience in automation frameworks & performance testing
  • Azure DevOps Test Planning, Atlassian Confluence & Jira
  • Proficiency in Visual Studio Code
  • Ability to work autonomously with high attention to detail
  • Self-starter, high attention to detail and excellent documentation.

Nice-to-Have

  • Airline industry experience
  • Selenium WebDriver & Appium skills
