A Day in the Life of an RMN: As a Community Psychiatric Nurse, you’ll play a crucial role in providing compassionate and comprehensive care to older adults in their own homes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Patient Visits: Conducting regular visits to ensure patients’ needs are met in the community setting.
  • Medication Administration: Delivering medication on time, every day, to support patient treatment.
  • Patient Interaction: Engaging in meaningful conversations to better understand their mental health conditions, while tracking progress and identifying any setbacks.
  • Risk Assessments: Performing risk assessments to ensure the safety of both the patient and those around them, while fostering a safe and supportive environment during treatment.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Active NMC registration as a mental health nurse.
  • Previous community experience.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Confidence working independently, but also comfortable collaborating with a team when needed.
  • Dedication to providing the highest standard of patient care.
