Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Pay rate: £21.79

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for an opportunity to make a real difference?

If so, the Acute Medical Unit at North Manchester Hospital are looking for an experience Occupational Therapist to join their dedicated team.

In this role you will be working within a busy and fast paced environment with a high turnover of patients . You will be responsible for assessing patients from A and E and looking at early discharge options out of the hospital. The team are closely linked with the onsite Frailty service and support on the Frailty service when required.

We have a supportive team on AMU and the new temporary worker will be well supported in their role.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver individualised assessments and specialist interventions for patients.
  • Provide training, supervision, and support for junior Occupational Therapy staff.
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a clinical expert in your specialty, offering advice and education to the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in rotational opportunities across sites and specialities, enhancing your professional growth.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

  • Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Experience working within an acute medical ward
  • Ability to use advanced clinical reasoning, making professional judgements in complex and challenging situations
