Occupational Therapist (OT)

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) with experience in housing adaptations. This role involves assessing individuals in their own homes for necessary adaptations, matching applicants to adapted homes, and conducting home viewings. This position plays a crucial role in facilitating access to suitable housing that meets the needs of Manchester residents through effective planning, support, and caseload management.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Conduct home visits to perform medical assessments for children and adults, determining priority for rehousing and completing necessary reports.
  • Provide expert advice on rehousing options available to residents.
  • Match applicants to available adapted homes and conduct viewings with these applicants.
  • Manage and find solutions for complex cases, ensuring positive rehousing outcomes.
  • Travel across Manchester and occasionally Greater Manchester a minimum of three days per week.
  • Be accountable for a caseload, offering advice and guidance to improve outcomes for individuals and associated parties.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Occupational Therapist with experience in housing adaptations.
  • Ability to assess individuals in their homes and determine necessary adaptations.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage caseloads effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to provide high-quality advice and manage complex cases.
  • Ability to travel across the city and occasionally wider areas as needed.
  • Experience in working with both children and adults in a similar capacity is highly desirable.
