Manchester City Council are looking to recruit a Children's Occupational Therapist to join an exciting team with new opportunities. The client offers a full-time contract with an opportunity to work from home, a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio. The vacancy will be for an initial 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.

Main Duties for the Children's Occupational Therapist includes.

  • To provide a Specialist Occupational Therapy Service for children/young people who have disabilities, complex health needs or chronic illness, social and housing needs.
  • To assess the needs of disabled children/young people, including those with long term conditions, terminal illness and behavioural problems, in the community
  • To provide a specialist response in complex and highly complex cases, formulating and implementing intervention plans aimed at reducing the impact of disability and ill health.
  • To give evidenced consideration to the voice of the child/young person and their families.
  • Working in a multi-agency way with employees of Tameside MBC, Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust and other agencies, by providing professional advice including disability equipment, adaptations and manual handling.
  • An awareness of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable people, plus an understanding of the importance of dignity & respect when dealing with people.

To Be Successful.

  • Previous experience working as an Children's Occupational Therapist in the community.
  • The candidate must have experience in training carers/families.
  • Must be able to hit the ground running and doesn't need upskilling.
  • Manual handling experience.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Occupational Therapist Qualification
  • Car driver is essential.
