Our client is an exciting start up that offers niche consumer finance products to their growing client base. Due to growth and expansion they are looking to recruit a Head of Compliance on a part time basis (3 days per week) who will lead the firms compliance function, ensuring the business meets its regulatory obligations and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of compliance and ethical business practices. As Head of Compliance, you will lead a team responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance across all business operations. This role offers competitive remuneration and the opportunity to shape compliance strategies in a fast-paced financial environment. In time there is potential that the role will become full time as the business grows but in the short term it will be part time and suitable for someone looking to take on their first SMF16 role or perhaps someone at the latter stages of their career who is looking to maintain an involvement in a regulated environment on a part time basis.

Key Responsibilities of the Head of Compliance:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive compliance policies and procedures
  • Oversee regulatory reporting and liaise with regulatory bodies
  • Conduct risk assessments and internal audits
  • Provide compliance training and guidance to staff at all levels
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and update company practices accordingly

Required knowledge and experience for the Head of Compliance role:

  • Extensive experience in financial services compliance (CONC preferred)
  • Experience of holding an SMF16/17 would be advantageous but not essential
  • In-depth knowledge of UK and international financial regulations
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Proven track record in developing compliance strategies
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. ICA, CISI)
