Manchester City Council is seeking two Neighbourhood Care Operatives to join our Grounds Maintenance team. This role involves maintaining parks, open spaces, and grass verges across the city. Day-to-day of the role:- Strimming and cutting back grass and shrubbery.
- Mowing areas, including operating ride-on mowers.
- Emptying litter bins and picking up litter.
- Driving 3.5 tonne flatback vehicles to various locations.
- Working as part of a team to deliver high-quality front-line services.
- Collaborating with other teams to ensure the highest standards of service delivery.
- Providing operational support that benefits the local population.
- Ensuring all activities are conducted safely and responsibly in line with health and safety requirements.
- A valid driver’s licence is essential.
- Comfortable driving 3.5 tonne flatback vehicles.
- Some experience in Grounds Maintenance or a similar operational role is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, customer-focused services.
- Willingness to undertake training and use a range of equipment safely and efficiently.
