We are seeking an innovative and experienced PR and Media Contractor to join our team in Manchester for 3 months with the potential of an extension. The successful candidate will play a critical role in our Marketing & Agency department, within the Transport & Distribution industry.

Our client is a large organisation that has a significant footprint within the Transport & Distribution sector. Based in Central Manchester, they have a robust reputation for driving innovation and delivering outstanding customer service.

Description

  • Develop and implement creative PR strategies to enhance the company's public image.
  • Provide day-to-day management and delivery of all public relations activities and political/parliamentary engagement to promote the transport investment.
  • Working with the Stakeholder Manager, design and deliver a proactive media and PR strategy
  • Manage relationships with media stakeholders to maximise positive coverage.
  • Manage projects/campaigns (internally and externally)
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to align PR activities with marketing initiatives.
  • Track media coverage and respond to media enquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Organise and manage PR events to boost brand awareness.
  • Provide crisis management support when needed.
  • Monitor and report on PR results regularly.

Profile

A successful PR and Media Contractor should have:

  • A degree in Communications, Journalism, PR or related field.
  • Substantial experience in developing PR and media strategies, and handling plans, with effective key messages get traction/action in a multilayered and complex stakeholder/public environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Substantial experience in managing effective public affairs and engagement activities including media relations, social media, change communications, stakeholder engagement, conference and events and e-communications.
  • Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of PR software and tools.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work independently.
