About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Children's Mentor to join a school in Radcliffe, Bury. The successful candidate will work closely with students who may have SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs or behavioural challenges, providing 1:1 and group support to help them manage their behaviour and engage positively in their education. This is a full time role, Monday to Friday 8:30 -3:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored behavioural support to students in line with their individual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and parents to develop strategies that promote positive behaviour and academic engagement.
  • Implement de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies to support students in crisis.
  • Build positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and mentor to encourage personal growth.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students who display challenging behaviour, SEMH, or SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with students and work as part of a team.
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
  • A proactive, patient, and resilient attitude.
