Tradewind are currently looking to recruit a Year 2 Teacher for a long-term position at wonderful school in Mossley, Tameside. The role will commence ASAP and will likely run until the end of the academic year. Ideally, the school are keen to appoint a passionate ECT who will be an additional teacher within the Year 2 class learning phonics, interventions and taking on a team teach approach within the classroom.

The Role

The successful applicant will be an additional teacher within the class. As a result, planning responsibilities will be minimal creating a role with fantastic work life balance whilst maintaining the enjoyment of teaching and learning. Within the class, there is a high percent of SEND needs including those with complex needs and looked after children. Therefore, experience supporting those with additional needs is key to success, as is the ability to be a great team player.

You will lead phonics sessions and adopt a team-teaching approach to the curriculum. You will also lead small group interventions to accelerate pupil progress making this a very focused and rewarding role.

  • A dynamic professional to join their team and make a valuable contribution to the school.
  • A committed practitioner who will learn about pupils individual needs and tailor learning accordingly to accelerate pupil progress
  • A teacher with a strong knowledge and understanding of the Year 2 curriculum
  • An ability to plan and deliver effective phonics sessions and lead small group interventions across core subjects
  • A reflective and adaptive practitioner who will assess, record and report on pupil performance in addition to monitoring social and emotional wellbeing
  • A team player who will share best practice with the class teacher and be a great communicator to report on pupil progress
  • A dedicated teacher who will positively contribute to all aspects of teaching and learning within the Year 2 class.

  • You must hold QTS status or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Have excellent references to support your previous teaching experience ideally in KS1
  • Provide a CV that covers the last 10 years employment history with no gaps
  • Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and have a right to work in the UK.
