Are you an experienced Payroll professional seeking your next challenge? We're excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our client as a Payroll Assistant on a short-term 3-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension. You will be joining a friendly and collaborative team, providing vital support during a busy period for the business. The role requires an individual with a good level of Payroll experience (minimum 12 months), in order to get up to speed with processes quickly and help support the Payroll and HR teams. This is a fast-paced but rewarding environment and an exciting company to be part of.
Working as part of a small Payroll team, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
Your main duties will include:
- Managing end-to-end payroll processes for multiple payrolls, including data entry, calculations, and verification.
- Preparing and submitting payroll reports to HMRC, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.
- Processing starters, leavers, and employee changes (e.g., tax codes, pension contributions, and benefits).
- Resolving payroll discrepancies and responding to employee queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Assisting with payroll audits and maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborating with the HR team on payroll-related matters and providing additional support to the HR team where needed.
Who We're Looking For:
- Immediate availability or nearing the end of a current contract.
- Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end payroll processes.
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, etc.) and auto-enrolment pensions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficiency in payroll software
