Senior Payroll Coordinator

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator to join a national business based in South Manchester. As the first point of contact for all payroll and pension queries, you will ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time. This role is pivotal in maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of their payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for all payroll and pension queries.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll.
  • Identify, propose, and implement changes to processes and procedures to improve departmental efficiency.
  • Liaise with external payroll bureau to ensure accurate data transition.
  • Perform data entry into SAP for monthly payroll data collection and processing.
  • Check and make required adjustments to payroll.
  • Calculate Tax, NI, SSP, SMP payments, input salary adjustments, calculate back pay and pay increases.
  • Prepare month-end reports, including payroll accruals, and handle payroll queries.
  • Support the Hub team with duties related to other payrolls during busy periods and holiday cover.
  • Produce ad hoc reports for the Group and assist the People Team and Head Office IS/IT team in developing the time attendance system as needed.
  • Train and develop members of the team
  • Deputise for the Personnel Administration Manager when required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven relevant experience in volume payroll at least 5+ years
  • Experience in SAPHR, Workday and other HR and payroll systems plus good excel skills
  • Strong understanding of UK payroll regulations and calculations.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full right to work permanently in the UK
