Paying up to £34,834 + Hybrid working + Excellent Benefits - This multi award-winning social housing provider based in Greater Manchester are seeking a highly organised, motivated, and meticulous Governance & Policy Officer to join their Governance Team on a 12-month FTC basis to cover a maternity period.

THE JOB

Offering flexible and hybrid working, this role is key to maintaining high governance standards, ensuring policy compliance, and supporting smooth corporate operations. You will work closely with the Board, Committees, and Executive Team to provide high-quality governance services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, circulate, and manage Board/Committee meeting materials, including minute-taking and action tracking.
  • Maintain and update governance frameworks, policies, and a central policy library to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Provide administrative support to Board and Committee members, including coordinating training and appraisals.
  • Conduct research, bench marking, and reviews to support governance-related projects and recommend improvements.

THE PERSON

Requirements:

  • Effective communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Knowledge of governance structures, corporate functions, and legislative compliance requirements.
  • Ability to provide informed, reliable advice to colleagues and senior stakeholders.
