Reed are supporting a Greater Manchester Council with their recruitment to a Policy and Partnerships Manager. In this role, you will provide effective management support, ensuring the development, coordination, and implementation of internal policies, procedures, information systems, and partnership working.

This role is crucial for the continuous improvement of delivery and meeting statutory obligations within the Council's Corporate Property services.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Lead on policy, performance, and business intelligence to support strategic direction for Corporate Property service.
  • Ensure effective policies, regulations, processes, and procedures are in place for successful delivery of key programmes and projects.
  • Shape and influence internal service planning and budgets, identifying relevant trends that may impact delivery.
  • Manage data generation, analysis, and manipulation to support performance assurance of core functions and activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential partners and stakeholders, representing the service at various functions and events.
  • Develop funding strategies for the Council’s estate and manage external funding programmes to deliver key priorities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Detailed understanding of the policy agenda facing local government, ideally relating to asset management and property.
  • Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strategic thinking with experience in developing and implementing strategies.
  • Proficiency in assimilating, coordinating, and analysing information to produce briefings and advice.
  • Ability to develop and implement an effective external bidding programme.
  • Excellent knowledge of external funding application methods and techniques.
