Behaviour Mentor Teaching Assistant

Job Description: We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Behaviour Mentor Teaching Assistant to join KS2 team. The successful candidate will work closely with students who have been identified as struggling with behaviour issues, providing support and guidance to help them overcome their challenges and achieve success in their academic and personal lives.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one support to students with behaviour issues, helping them to understand the root causes of their problems and develop strategies to improve their behaviour

Work closely with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement behaviour management plans and interventions

Monitor and track student progress, providing regular reports to teachers and parents

Collaborate with other members of the school community, including counselors, social workers, and other support staff, to provide comprehensive support to students

Provide guidance and support to students as they work through difficult situations and challenges, helping them to develop coping strategies and build resilience

Act as a role model for positive behaviour, setting an example for students to follow

Qualifications:

A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a teaching assistant or similar role

Experience working with students with behaviour issues, preferably in a school setting

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents

Patience, compassion, and understanding, with the ability to remain calm and supportive in difficult situations

Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple tasks and meet deadlines

A valid teaching assistant certification or equivalent
