Purpose:
To drive sustainable continuous improvement activities within the business. By designing, promoting, and implementing continuous improvement projects and procedures. Acting as the C.I. ambassador to link the C.I. function with all other areas within the business. To perform quality & inspection duties primarily within view room goods inward function.
Core Responsibilities:
Job brief: To perform continuous improvement activities. Contribute to the safety & quality improvement to ensure that procedures and processes are reviewed and improved where appropriate. Champion the C.I. programme by forming working relationships with all internal departments. Other duties to assist in implementation of the safety and compliance management systems.
Execute specific inspections on precision engineered & electrical components
Manually inspect product with handheld measurement tools such as Vernier's, Height gauges and shadow graphs
Help manage initial rejection, segregation, and quarantine of none conforming product
Approve incoming goods/materials by confirming specifications, visual inspections
Maintain quality records as per company procedures
Comply with all company H&S and environmental procedures
Comply with all company security requirements
Communicate deficiencies to the quality team and stakeholders
Assist in maintaining the company K.P.l.'s & P.l.'S
Assist in designing and delivering a continuous improvement programme.
Assist with 5 why investigations
Gather and collate data to allow business improvement
Conduct and report Lean system implementation audits
Communicate with all employees regarding quality and C.I. requirements
Support 5s activities
Other reasonable duties assigned by the quality manager
Act as the departmental cube/board facilitator
Drive & support 5s activities across all areas of the business
Requirements
Qualification in Quality Management
Strong I.T. skills - Microsoft office, word, excel, PowerPoint
Auditor qualification or willingness to gain one
Yellow belt/lean manufacturing/continuous improvement experience
Willingness to learn skills and acquire further qualifications
Expereince
Previous experience within a manufacturing/Engineering environment.
Previous experience in deployment of C. I. & lean projects
Strong decision making & problem-solving skills via company procedures
Familiarity with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)
Familiarity with AS9100,ISO14001,OHSAS 18001 management systems
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques
Leading business change management projects
Familiar with 5s system
